I have chosen to photograph on the theme of Person X. I have chosen this theme inspired by images taken by Julian Germain in his set called "For every minute you are angry you lose 60 seconds of happiness". I think his images are really nice and really show narrative well about how the old man lives on his own goes about his daily activities, e.g. driving his car, going for a walk, going to a beach. The images are really nicely shot using really gorgeous shallow depth of field. He has also done a really good job of focusing on objects that represent the man such as old photo albums.
"What Mum's Do"
For my own project I would like to follow my mum around photographing her, sort of in a 'day in the life' style. I would like to capture different elements of her life. This could be work life, home life, social life, past life (e.g. photo albums). I would like to also capture what she does for me and our family (e.g. cooking, cleaning, looking after us all). I may try and incorporate some of her favourite colours into the images because then they will describe more about her. Like a lot of Germain's images, I would like a lot of my images to have a narrow depth of field to create blur and focus in on certain things that describe her. I am going to go to her work and photograph her there, photograph her around the home, walking the dog, cooking, cleaning, socializing. I would like this set to illustrate using narrative what she does to look after me and my family, and then what she likes to do in her own time.
