Liverpool : Tate Museum and Antony Gormley's "Another Place"

These images were taken at Albert Dock, Liverpool. We went on a college trip here to visit the Rene Magritte exhibition at the Tate Gallery. I personally did not enjoy looking at Magritte's work because I think it is just too surreal and weird. I did however enjoy looking around the rest of the Tate Gallery and saw lots of interesting pieces.

These images were taken at Crosby Beach, Liverpool. We went to visit the Antony Gormley installation "Another Place".  The installation is a group of figures fixed into the ground in various different places on Crosby Beach all looking out to sea. Because they are all at different places it looks very interesting when the tide comes in and some of the figures look like they are just standing dead still even though the water may be up to their heads. The figures were made out of cast iron all moulded on Gormley's own body and are life size representations of himself. The site was different than I had imagined because I thought that the sculptures would be closer together than they were and I would be able to get some shots with a few of them in. Today was a bit of a disappointing day to visit Crosby Beach as it was very windy, very cold and very grey. I would like to revisit "Another Place" during the summer months to get some better photographs.
