IMAGE AND TEXT Assignment : Task 3 : Research : Modern Digital In-Camera Effects : Vignette

The first step in creating a vignette is selecting an image you want to manipulate and add a new blank layer on top of it.



Next, select the paint bucket tool and make sure that the colour you are going to apply onto the blank layer is black. This will be shown by the top square on the two colours in the palette is black.





Next, apply the black fill layer onto the blank layer so the whole image is black.




Finally, use the eraser tool to gradually remove the black layer from the centre outwards. Increase or decrease the size of the eraser by pressing the [ and ] keys on the keyboard. Once you have removed enough of the black layer from the centre outwards, leaving the outer edges black, you will have a vignette on your image.
