Robert Doisneau was a french photographer born in Gentilly in the Val-de-Marne. He lived from 1912 to 1994. Robert Doisneau's work is always black and white and mainly shot in Paris, France. His images often have people in them and make the audience wonder that is going on. I think Doisneau is very good at narrative imagery as I think that there appears to be a story behind most of his photographs. I think his images appear as though they are an insight into Parisian/French culture/way of life. His images portray that Paris is a city associated with love and often takes photographs with kissing couples in them. His work is all done on film which I often think makes the images more raw and aesthetically pleasing. I think that some of Doisneau's images look real and some look staged - this is slightly disappointing as the ones that are really and morew natural look better in my opinion. I think that the only thing I slightly dislike about Doisneu's work is that it is quite dark - this may have been intended but I think some of his images are a little too dark. His images often have a lot going on in them which can sometimes be distracting on the eye.
